Malaysia General Election 2008 : Some Reverse Thinking

If general election is all about voting OUT your most dislike party instead of vote in your most favourable party to govern the country , it would be much more easier. Simple , we all know who to vote out for our country's good . Most unfortunately , we have to vote for those we want them to rule the country , and yet more unfortunately , there is really not even a single party that's capable of running the country well.

Given this dilemma , what's the best choice for the voters - the people ?
Let me just use some reverse thinking to evaluate all the possibilities we have.

Let's make it simple - Opposition or BN ? I know It is hard to choose which party we want among them. So let's do reverse thinking ... which one we don't want the most ? Well , the answer should be obvious to most . However , we do have these concerns :

1. Can the opposition run the country , seeing the state of resources they having now ?
2. What if we voted for opposition , but they didn't win the majority seats , does it means less power of Chinese in BN , since MCA has gotten lesser votes and therefore seats ?
3. What if our state / country is taken by PAS ?
4. Do I still vote for PAS if the candidates competing only involve BN and PAS ?

We shall analyse each of the concerns carefully , ya ? 1st . Can the opposition run this country well , given their resources ? Actually this is quite a ridiculous concern. Do you expect the red horse to run , but you give all the grass to the blue horse to eat ? Or do you expect you give a little grass to the red horse , and the red horse should run better than the blue ? We have given enough chances to the blue horse , 50 years and yet it don't run . Instead , the blue horse is getting fatter and crankier by the days . Well , why don't give the red horse a chance ? Give them the votes they need , and they will get the resources they need.

2nd , well honestly , opposition will not be able to take over the parliament in this election. For us Chinese , the strength of MCA will definately suffer a big drop if we all vote for the opposition. But now , is it a bad thing at all ? People may say we need voices , we need power in the government to survive , so we need somebody in the BN , we need to give them power blah blah. Well , let's look at what happen when you give them so much power ? When MCA has lots of support from the Chinese for all these years ... Don't you see a pattern ? UMNO will not care about the Chinese voters if the Chinese WILL vote for MCA , coz UMNO has MCA in control and you vote MCA means you vote UMNO .. so why should they care about us ? IF you are smart enough , you should be able to realise why is the governemtn giving out alot of "Sweets" to the chinese when nearing election ? Coz they fear they might lost the votes from the Chinese ! If today you vote for PAS, you vote for DAP , then the next MCA will be extremely weak . Its then UMNO will worry about the chinese voters and worry about the rising strength of PAS and DAP , then only they will do good to us chinese , thru out the 5 years ! Right ? That's the way if you really worry about us Chinese having no voices in the parliament ! The more you vote MCA, the LESSER power chinese will have. Come on , think about it.

3rd and 4th-ly ... you know PAS cannot take over state/country , at least for this election. Our main goal is to weaken the BN , and let them worry about all these votes that had changed from BN to opposition.. So that the BN goverment will try to perform better for the next 5 years. Remember , giving BN votes means they will not be afraid of you , and they think they can do whatever they want !

The most important thing for Chinese... Say No to MCA if you want chinese's voices to be heard in the next parliament. Reverse thinking ... dun be so naive to think MCA needs our votes to perform . Trust me , if without MCA , UMNO will automatically, or i rather say , forced to take care of the chinese voters . ( well, not for chinese's sake , but they surely dun want opposition to have the ability to challenge them ) . So , think . Use ur brain yea.

Xu Shen,
Atlantiz 0 , peace out .
I pray a better tomorrow for my beloved country - Malaysia.

Maybe most of the chinese will stand for the opposition for this time election but the majority race is still malay so the opposition is hardly to defeat 2/3 seats of BN always holds...That's right!! Become one of the malaysian(chinese), this is quiet impossible for us to change this situation, but I think the most desision to make sense is let ourself to become stronger and qualify to become citizen of other coutry...

As a chinese, we all are clear what is the position we stand now. The percentage for us to change Malaysia to become what we want is 0 percent. Maybe we can change but definitely not in short term and moreover even the opposition can get more seats at this time election but they are still impossible to over 2/3 seats of BN holds so they can't to do anything if they not hit the target...BN still not do better in the next five year under the situation opposition can get more seats because not all the chinese definitely vote to the opposition but most the malay must still support BN...under the numder of malay are more than us so much and they are still willing support BN, why the BN scare?

Y'all people kept on saying le blue is not worth the vote... but have y'all ever think of what will happen if the rocket is 'build' but no fuel? the green is up but soon wilt due to lack of water? What can they really do since their resources are so damn scarce? How long can they rely on those wealthy supporters? Its a 5 year term not 5 weeks or even 5 months.. think about it..

Well, I'm saying this not because I'm on le blue's side. I'm just analyzing base on logic and common sense that a human probably would have.

1st, so what if a few rockets or the hulk are in? In other words, some le blue personal lost? Does it translate into a more beneficial thing? Do remember this, le blue might not had a land slide victory BUT marginal victory is still at hand.

Do remember the decisions in the HOUSE is made by decision of majority. Yes, you might have more ways to channel your discontent but what can you do?

Do y'all want more red tapes? hadn't y'all have enough of that? Plz bear this in mind that all the government servants are on the le blue's side. Guess no one would want something nasty by the polize...

well ... i just read 2 lines of your argument .. and i think i already presented something in my post to counter your argument ...

The blue horse doesn't come with resources by the own. Its because of the people's vote , because of the people's support that they have the resourses to run the country.

You could give the resourse you continuusly given to the blue to the red side . If we never give them the rights to access this country's source , how are they going to compete with the blue ?

Its been an unfair comparison .. compare the state of the blue and red now ... Why dun imagine the possibilities the red might have if they are in the right place ?

Remember one thing : If there's one day other party take the role of the current ruling one , they will be as resourceful as the ruling one .. if not better .

Of coz... like I first mentioned in my post , I seriously don't think any party out there has what it takes to govern this country well .

One more thing ... BN will definately win totally , if not marginally.

But totally and marginally means a great difference. They won't be so arrogant as they are now if they lose some seats .

Everytime government said we have to use the right channel to voice out ... What do you think is the best channel we have ? IF we didn't even have the courage to voice our discontent by voting , are there any other effective channel ?

Its a message to the rulling party... : You can't just do anything you like. We people has the power to defy you .

History has proved to us again and again . A corrupted government will fall eventually . And the people , is always the cause of their failure.

If you need inspiration : look at Australia .. look at US ... Look at Taiwan , look at Thailand.

If we ever hide ourselves because of the government's pressure , be it violent or white terror , we will never move forward ... We have to start somewhere ...

it's alwys easier said than done. i can give u a hell lot of complaints, problems, mishaps... it's so easy to observe, so easy to just, talk out all the bad parts. But what about the achievements, the vision to bring success? independance was fought by our forefathers along...we overlook all those.fine, it's in the past
Because u've never put ur legs in ppl's shoes. Hav anyone work with ppl frm diff. race, back-ground? Their ppl is controling goverment sector while the nons are on the private sector. Both have to work together to generate success.
The race card is unseparated in malaysian politics. It's not to say if u want a chance then u get it.One wrong step and the country will go down.
Nobody is PERFECT. Everyone deserves a chance.
There's lots of bias n inequality. Najib and KJ is just too powerfull. They dun giv a fxxx on who's winning or losing...
i applaud opposition for their courage.but it's not easy... only a handful of them can be used...
Nobody shud criticize OKT, he's a great leader. So much better than LLS.Support him and he'll bring a future for us.

Alright, lets look at the Aussie, how many Asians you can see in their HOUSE? Remember the whites in that country is like the 'native' we have here... Same way of claiming the land their own.

Another thing that we can't compare with Thailand & Taiwan is that those 2 country consisted nearly 99% of the same race whereby we have 1,2,3,... so many races...

You ever see equality prevails in this world despite so many leaders had step up and working very hard on it? The so called equality that we have today might have been better but the discrimination is always there, either consciously or not.

The political realities varies in different country and you can never get a country you can compare onto. :P

Well , i agree it is much more easier to criticize and point out people's wrongdoing .. and it is unjustifiable that the opposition should get our support just because of they did all that .

However , the whole foundation of my argument is not who should rule this country .. but who shouldn't rule this country. We dun have the maturity yet to decide who not to rule this country . As you said , its important that we take one step at a time because all our movements are crucial to the success or failure of this country. However , we do have the power , we do have the NEED to send a message to the governing party about how we feel. THis is the "correct channel" our PM keeps mentioning about. This is the correct way of telling them :" Hey , you can't do that!! " .

We can't decide , or change the rulling party. However , WE can , and we MUST warn them that we will not tolerate any wrong doings by them.

To me , this election is not a matter of , choosing the right people. Rather , it is a " choose to be in a right situation" .

You know MCA dun have the will to fight when our rights has been breached. You seen it for the past decades . You know the cause ... We gave them too much votes ... that's why Umm nooo dun care about how chinese feels.

Sum up my points , it is not a matter of voting opposition , or having opposition be the rulling party. It is rather , NOT voting for any party in the alliance . SO that they would treasure our votes .

Well ..i never compare. That's source of inspiration . I never expect the same thing to happen in our country .

However , we should learn how they stand up to themselves and express their feelings.

Are there any evolutions going to happen in our history IF everyone afraid of changes ? Slaves wouldn't be saved from Lincoln. Black never would get their status right.

I know i sound idealistic , but that's what everyone should work hard for , right ? I know there are discrimination out there , but does that give me a reason to give up at all ? They know black still facing discrimination, and they will still suffer from it no matter how hard they try .. but does that becomes a reason for them to stop trying ?

We will never have equality in our time. But I would try to make it better if I could.

btw,i would like to voice out my opinion to your idea on this coming general election.in fact, there isn't any much equality in any parts of the world either.like you guys said, the blacks in America being marginalized, the natives in Australia are not been clarified about their identity in their own country, blah blah.even there's no equal rights for woman in most countries either.for example, unequal respects for women in especially in India is still so great.when can actually women are given the very balanced respect in every aspects of life?it takes years for women to gain their rights.even though the strain is obvious.talking about equal right for different races in Malaysia, the significant gap will not change much.well, the Malays outnumbered the other two main races here.(P's e:they are more professional at giving births instead of any other skills in life)sadly enough, their brain is much easier to manipulate.no matter what kind of bullshit, empty promises the people in control given them, they are easier to be brainwashed.empty promises is rather straightforward,i shall put that as late/long way due mission.its clearly seen how "fast" the development in our country grows.for sure, men are selfish by nature.did you ever come across to see a minister that actually pay much attention for the nation instead for himself or family in hand first?guess only God or mother Theresa that i would possible know.even the word Justice is hard to apply in life nowadays.conclusion, those who has already step out of Malaysia, well done and enjoy your leash of life that serves you better.for those who has extra bucks,Canada,Vancouver is a good option if you intend to migrate and settle down for the rest of your life there.its been a free country for decades, and a lot of Asians love the life there.do consider of giving that a thought.for the rest, hang on and just live your life to fullest,be contented with what you have in life.
dear fellas,well said.
signing off,
world peace.

want to win votes?
offer a Proton Saga to everyone that votes for you.

Whichever side you vote for..be it BN or DAP. There won't be much of a difference.

BN needs votes from the rest of the races to show its stand of a "democratic" country, its more for the sake of the presentation to the outer world than the genuine concern of its citizens of other races.
They need these votes. Its not for the sake of serving the public. its for the sake of the numbers to tally to the number of votes.

Whereas DAP and gang (keadilan,PAS) are more of the sake of hentaming BN & gaining personal interest. Finding fault with the government..but not offering solutions..and one thing to quote.

"Before u shout at yr neighbours to clean their house, look at your own backyard "

its definite to say, when the oppositions say they can cut petrol charges and abolish school fees are actually..BULLSHIT.They cannot even stand straight enough to fend for their own party.and even need to put donation links to ask to support the party.

This country needs STRAIGHT forward politics. not some Pak Dollah style mentality & cover ups.

its a shame to see how Chinese in M'sia in politics. All scared of their own ricebowl instead of the benefit of the people.

well , like you said ,BN needs votes.

This is the "only chance" we can force BN to do something for us.

Best scenario ? Let BN loses votes , but not seats . And HOPEFULLY they will realise something and do something .
