Malaysia General Election 2008 : Some Reverse Thinking
Given this dilemma , what's the best choice for the voters - the people ?
Let me just use some reverse thinking to evaluate all the possibilities we have.
Let's make it simple - Opposition or BN ? I know It is hard to choose which party we want among them. So let's do reverse thinking ... which one we don't want the most ? Well , the answer should be obvious to most . However , we do have these concerns :
1. Can the opposition run the country , seeing the state of resources they having now ?
2. What if we voted for opposition , but they didn't win the majority seats , does it means less power of Chinese in BN , since MCA has gotten lesser votes and therefore seats ?
3. What if our state / country is taken by PAS ?
4. Do I still vote for PAS if the candidates competing only involve BN and PAS ?
We shall analyse each of the concerns carefully , ya ? 1st . Can the opposition run this country well , given their resources ? Actually this is quite a ridiculous concern. Do you expect the red horse to run , but you give all the grass to the blue horse to eat ? Or do you expect you give a little grass to the red horse , and the red horse should run better than the blue ? We have given enough chances to the blue horse , 50 years and yet it don't run . Instead , the blue horse is getting fatter and crankier by the days . Well , why don't give the red horse a chance ? Give them the votes they need , and they will get the resources they need.
2nd , well honestly , opposition will not be able to take over the parliament in this election. For us Chinese , the strength of MCA will definately suffer a big drop if we all vote for the opposition. But now , is it a bad thing at all ? People may say we need voices , we need power in the government to survive , so we need somebody in the BN , we need to give them power blah blah. Well , let's look at what happen when you give them so much power ? When MCA has lots of support from the Chinese for all these years ... Don't you see a pattern ? UMNO will not care about the Chinese voters if the Chinese WILL vote for MCA , coz UMNO has MCA in control and you vote MCA means you vote UMNO .. so why should they care about us ? IF you are smart enough , you should be able to realise why is the governemtn giving out alot of "Sweets" to the chinese when nearing election ? Coz they fear they might lost the votes from the Chinese ! If today you vote for PAS, you vote for DAP , then the next MCA will be extremely weak . Its then UMNO will worry about the chinese voters and worry about the rising strength of PAS and DAP , then only they will do good to us chinese , thru out the 5 years ! Right ? That's the way if you really worry about us Chinese having no voices in the parliament ! The more you vote MCA, the LESSER power chinese will have. Come on , think about it.
3rd and 4th-ly ... you know PAS cannot take over state/country , at least for this election. Our main goal is to weaken the BN , and let them worry about all these votes that had changed from BN to opposition.. So that the BN goverment will try to perform better for the next 5 years. Remember , giving BN votes means they will not be afraid of you , and they think they can do whatever they want !
The most important thing for Chinese... Say No to MCA if you want chinese's voices to be heard in the next parliament. Reverse thinking ... dun be so naive to think MCA needs our votes to perform . Trust me , if without MCA , UMNO will automatically, or i rather say , forced to take care of the chinese voters . ( well, not for chinese's sake , but they surely dun want opposition to have the ability to challenge them ) . So , think . Use ur brain yea.
Xu Shen,
Atlantiz 0 , peace out .
I pray a better tomorrow for my beloved country - Malaysia.

A sensible choice; a sensible person.
Creativity of DAP
Their terrible fate; Our wonderful met.
So do traditions such as the Grail Cycle and the myth of the Wandering Hero in search of Paradise. Indeed, Atlantis is no other than the Primordial Paradise, which was the source from where the gods and angels brought the Gospels and the seeds of knowledge in the dawn of times. In this section we review certain themes like the Atlantean origin of myths, symbols and rites such as the Mysteries and the Christian Sacraments which we commemorate more or less apishly, in total ignorance of their essential connection with Atlantean events.
We can only speculate about the circumstances under which Atlantis disappeared. Some theories suggest that there was a huge asteroid which shifted the poles, split the Atlantic basin and created the Caribbean region. Others assume that Atlantis was doomed to sink because of a catastrophic earthquake together with volcanic eruptions. A fairly plausible explanation concerns the melting of the poles at the end of the Würm Ice Age 12 000 years ago.
Our Atlantiz is derived from the word Atlantis which refers to this lost city...
An ancient civilization with lots of mystery and story in Greek mythology...

Singapore Botanical Garden
This is our group photo in front of the main gate of botanical garden. The garden itself is very big. .. i guess at least 1 half the size of hutan bandar. Amazingly , it is quite well-conserved and managed as you can see vast variety of species of plants inside. The girl in stripes colour shirt is Lucy , she's a vietnamese , just came back from Work and Travel USA program. She shared alot of experiences with me of her being in USA for 3 months. The other 2 girls ...i dunno them( you can figure why ) . Back row standing , the leftmost guy is called Nathan , also a vietnamese. He seems to get along well with me .. lol . He's quite a sosiable guy ( unlike the impression i have for ppl from vietnam) . He 's from Ho CHi Minh city and he told me alot about his country.. and i guess i have just got myself a tour guide if i want to travel vietnam. On my right is one of my good friend also , Jia wei , from KL . Beside him is david ( from SSI) and See hon from Yong peng. 2 of them had signed up for the Work and Travel USA with me .. hope we can go together this summer ! Haha , at last , his name is called Yi han , a singaporean. He's the Human Resource director of S.A.V.E , a very nice guy . He told me about his NS .. and how NS simulates their training base on the assumption : what if Malaysia attacks SIngapore .
<----
Well , Nathan is communicating with the Swan !
------------>
Our group photo after our picnic ... Just snacks .. but they are kind ppl.. they prepare food for us to eat .. lol . We played freesbie and soccer there. The one holding ball called Danny .. also one of whom signed up WaT USA with me. Beside him is Shawn , a singaporean. Well , being environmentalist group , we didnt produce any non-biodegradable waste , nor we didn't use any plastic bags either. The place after we left was spotlessly clean.
This is the open air concert stage inside the botanical garden . Oh , did i mention the garden is just beside orchard road yet ? Never mind . This stage is somewhat called Shaw Foundation Symphony stage/stadium. There are no seats , just grass land for audiene to sit . There'll be free performances once a fortnight during evening/night.
Well , that's all for my outing today . Last but not least , i have this photo taken in one of NUS 's canteen's stall . I really laugh out loud when i see this ... Its either a typo OR they really meant it .. see it yourself to spot the odd.

Greek Masterpieces
I had visited The National Museum of Singapore this afternoon with Regina. We went there for the exhibition on the Greek Masterpiece. Just for your information, those exhibition masterpieces are part of the collection of Louvre. In other words, you need to spend thousands of dollars travel to France to check the same thing that I've seen for $4 if you miss this opportunity.
The interior of the museum is simply majestic. I don't really know how to describe how it looks exactly as my English is kinda poor but trust me you'll love it. Its a very well furnished and illuminate space with very strong British architecture influence, not to mention all those high-tech gadget they install there.
Even the ticket is with bar code... You need to swap the card in order to enter the exhibition ground... I wonder when can we have that in National Museum of Malaysia...
Well, I did try to take a few pictures. But due to the fact that I doesn't own a digicam and my mobile phone's poor camera quality, I'm only able to take a few snaps of those. Do bear with me though.
By the way, if you guys really can't bear with the pictures quality, please take immediate action - either sponsor me a new phone with better camera functionality or a digicam. Thanks a million ya!
This is a mother and son...
This art piece shows an aristocrat on the war horse. Only those rich aristocrat can afford a war horse during battle. The weapons and provision of the soldiers are proportional to their financial status. Interesting...
This one here is kinda blur but I really like it. It is young Eros, the God of Love. He is called as cupid by the Romans. He is the son of Aphrodite. He has a pair of little wings on his back and always carrying a bow. This piece of art work looks perfect from all angle. Simply brilliant.
Shown here is Ares, a god like love warfare and blood lust.
The following pieces belongs to Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love.
Aphrodite always has a ring on her left arm and holds an apple.
Aphrodite just came out after bath. You can see as if one layer of wet cloth (like translucent) covering her body and slightly showing the skin below.. Really a master piece.
This is one of the most well preserve piece... The head of Aphrodite. Also one of the piece I really like..
Can you guess whats this? Haha... This is called strigil and it has an interesting function. The Greeks likes to be naked during their sports competition and before any competition they will apply perfume to their body and rub it with sand. Then they will use this strigil to scrap the sand off, collect it in a bottle and sell it! It was said that the scrap off has some medical properties. Lol...
Maybe we can make one and give Ong as next year's birthday present. Lol..

Annual Chinese New Year House to House visiting ! ( Da Tuan Bai )
NOTE : I dun have much photos with me , those with photos(especially ong) please edit this post and extend this post in any way you like . You may change anything deems fit to you .
This year, we started at Wee Kang's house with 11 people . Well , as you all know , wee kang's house is a big boring cave to live , so no photos or any special thing happened there. Then we moved house to house to bai nian. One thing very nice is we are already so familiar with everyone's parents , and our parents also so used to have us visiting every year . I saw welcome and joyous on every parents' faces. After all they see us grow up from small little kid , who walked, took bus, taxis in order to bai nian from house to house to now everyone grown up and driving cars from house to house. This bai nian , to me, has evolved from the purpose of collecting Ang Paos to now as a chance to gather everyone back together , and warm everybody's house . I must say , its very fortunate for us to have a bunch of great buddies to grow up together , ya agree ?
This are some of the photos . First up here is at Wee Ser's house. We had some gamble here ... of coz , hosted by none other than xiao lao shu. This year , year of rat .. he won alot that day. Wee Ser mom has baked a cake for us . ------------->
^ above is when we are at soon seng's house. As usual tradition, his mother has fried some prawn crackers waiting for us just like every year. They taste still so good after all these years .
<--This photo is taken at Soon jeck's house. Soon Jeck has gone to Russia for 2 years . However we still visit his house and chat with his parents. Soon jeck's dad was very kind to us .. he treat us some imported wines and chocolates brought back by soon Jeck. NIce Uncle !!!!!
A long way off...
